Retail analytics: store segmentation using Rule-Based Purchasing behavior analysis

Retailers are facing challenges in making sense of the significant amount data available for a better understanding their customers. While retail analytics plays an increasingly important role successful retailing management, comprehensive store segmentation based on Data Mining-based Retail Analytics is still under-researched area. This study seeks to address this gap by developing novel approach segment stores chains ‘purchasing behavior customers’ and applying it case study. The applicability benefits using Mining techniques examine purchasing identify segments demonstrated global chain Istanbul, Turkey. Over 600 K transaction grocery retailer analyzed 175 Istanbul successfully segmented into five segments. results suggest that proposed new enables clusters different regions all advances our at level. will provide opportunity manage data-driven decisions marketing, customer relationship supply inventory management demand forecasting.
